Valentine's Day Concert at Nassau Coliseum-Were You There?

I am looking to getting some dialog going with regard to Sat night concert in NY. I have been to Barry's concerts before several times . Was it me or was this crowd less enthusiastic? Even Barry commented about the audience "being strange'.

Hi Debbie :) Hope you don't mind me comin back to you as I wasnt at this show. Would love to have been! But I'm curious having read your comment as to how you thought it was a strange audience? If Barry commented, then there must've been something strange lol but I have read other reports that said the crowd was lively, enthusiastic and it was a great night?? You sound a bit let down, by the audience not Barry I would say, which is a shame as this does make a difference, I know.
Take care :)

Oh don't get me wrong, I thought the show was wonderful! However, I suppose I am use to an even livlier bunch. I sat to the left of Barry -first section nearest to the stage. For the first time I got to peer out into the audience and could only see senior citizens -Less animated I suppose. Not what I was use to at other 'larger' concerts of Barry's. There was a few yells from audence members that I felt were a bit inappropriate. Especially when Barry was getting ready to sing a very serous emotional song. Even Barry paused to ask the audience to allow him to get through it uninterrupted. Later he commented how the audience was" a very strange audience and that he has never seen an audience quite like it before......There was not as much applause as I am use to either. Many just sat there with little reaction. Perhaps there were those unfamiliar with Barry and simply donated to the breast cancer benefit.
I was thrilled as usual but I am very worried because Barry seemed too thin and too tired....

Well I think I would have found that kind of audience strange too, as usually with a smaller crowd it's more exciting, or at least it is here lol :P I'm sure there too, normally. Such a shame as it's such fun when you get the crowd rocking and theres a party atmosphere :D
Barry looked ok when I saw him here in December and I thought he looked well and refreshed in the recent pics of him at the pre-Grammy party and also the Steve Chase Awards. Did you see these? He always has been thin eh and so I guess now he's a bit older then he's a bit thinner as he hardly is a sit in the armchair, pipe and slippers man lol :)
Doesn't look like you've managed to get too many comments about this concert ... did you post on the main Manilow network to see what people had to say?
Take care :)

Thanks Amy,
No , I didn't post my comment anywhere else. I just was hoping to find a few who might have attended on V-day in NY. I was thrilled as always to see Barry. I had one of the best seats thus far that I have had in previous concerts. I was able to observe the entire audience. Too bad that most of the front rows were most likely contributing benefactors and not real Manilow fans. You could obviously see by their lack of attention and enthusiasm. For some there was not even applause!
If I were in the front row, I would have been jumping for joy!!!!

Hoping that Barry gets some additional R&R as he seems to be burning the candle at both ends.

Thanks for responding,
Debbie
